Brief presentation

Sviluppo Basilicata S.p.A. (previously Sviluppo Italia Basilicata) was born on 28th September 2000, it has gathered together the well-established professional skills of IG Lucana and Systema BIC Basilicata. Both have been developing best practices in the innovative finance: IG Lucana concentrating its action on the financial and technical assistance and support to young entrepreneurs; Systema Bic Basilicata operating in the field of venture capital (seed and start capital) towards SMEs and financial services provided to companies. For a decade Sviluppo Italia Basilicata was a partner on the territory of the Invitalia Group - Invitalia is the Government agency for inward investment promotion and enterprise development dedicated to assist companies in all stages of the investment process, to support new business ventures and to enhance local development. Nowadays, Sviluppo Basilicata’s sole shareholder is the Basilicata Region and it acts as a Regional Development Agency supporting the Entrepreneurial development and its tools and programmes are consistent with the programming of the Regional Government.

Its threefold business activities spin on:

• Inward Investment: to enhance foreign investments by providing high value-added services to investors;

• Enterprise Development: to develop innovation and entrepreneurship in business clusters;

• Local Economic Development: to encourage location attractiveness and competitive edge in order to enhance overall competitiveness.

Moreover, Sviluppo Basilicata provides technical assistance, also as an Intermediate Body (Global Grants), to plan and to manage grants and state aids, mainly for young entrepreneurs and participates into several EU projects. Sviluppo Basilicata has a staff of 22 skilled professionals and two office premises, one in Potenza and the other one in Matera.
